Manchester United keeper coach Eric Steele is delighted with the club's current pool of goalkeepers.
In his blog for manutd.com, Steele wrote: "In Edwin van der Sar, Ben Foster and Tomasz Kuszczak we have three top keepers more than capable of doing that. Take the derby victory over City at Old Trafford - Edwin was in goal that day and it wasn't until the 86th minute that he was really called upon, yet he still pulled off a stunning finger-tip save from Martin Petrov; one of the best saves of the season in my book.
"People sometimes forget about that aspect of Edwin's game. We all know about his vast experience and the calming influence he brings, but he's also a terrific shot-stopper. Just as scoring a goal can be a defining moment in a game, so too can making a crucial save and he's made his fair share.
"We know if we keep a clean sheet we've got players who can do the business at the other end and that was proven during the side's record run which I believe will take some breaking. Edwin obviously played a major part, but it's an achievement for everyone because it takes into account how we defended as a team at set-pieces, as well as the job the back five did.
"Edwin may be in the twilight of his career but he hasn't lost any of his enthusiasm and it's fantastic to see the competitive edge and spirit amongst all the keepers."
