Man Utd captain Maguire: Rashford will be frustrated

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has suggested that striker Marcus Rashford would not have been too pleased at missing out on a club record.

Rashford was taken off in the 3-1 win over Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday, having failed to score in the game.

If Rashford had found the back of the net, he would have set a United record of scoring in ten successive home matches.

Speaking to club media, Maguire said: "Yes it was obviously disappointing for him [Rashford - goal disallowed in the game].

“I think he'd have been really wanting that record and then the manager subbed him off and I'm sure he wasn't happy with that either.

“Listen, there's bigger things to win. Although records are nice, it's a team sport and we need Marcus.

“Our team needs Marcus fit and ready for these big games coming up. So it's probably a wise decision from the manager."
