Man Utd boss Ten Hag says Fred required player amid PSG interest

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says Fred isn't for sale amid talk of interest from PSG.

Diogo Dalot, Fred, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw all had deals that were set to expire in June 2023, but in each case there was an option of an extra 12 months.

The decision has been made to exercise those respective additions, meaning that the quartet are now all under contract until at least the summer of 2024.

The quartet had key roles, including Fred, in the first half of the campaign before recently going away with their nations to play at the World Cup in Qatar.

“We want to develop, we want to support those players and we want them to keep in our process," said Ten Hag.

“So, that's why we came to those decisions, I'm sure they are the right decisions.

“We want to construct a team for the future, so for longer years, and those players have to be part of it."
