Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was happy with Jadon Sancho's performance in victory over Chelsea.

Sancho went into the game with a cloud over his future at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag said, “I was not in discussions with him. I gave him some instructions. There was an injury so I took the chance to give him some instructions. I do that often with the players.

“It is a short time and you have to take advantage to give some instructions to the team. Sometimes it can be individuals. Sometimes it can be groups. That is what he did.

“He did very well on the right and played very good game today. He is one of the players who has made progress this season. That is a good base to build further on. He can do both [left and right]. He prefers to play on the left but we have seen today he is very good on the right as well."
