Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says they remain in discussions with Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes over new contracts.
Chong and Gomes were left out of United's squad for Thursday's Europa League round of 32 first leg at Club Brugge, with the pair instead playing a behind-closed-doors friendly against the Belgian side for a United development team.
Chong scored in a 2-0 victory for United and Solskjaer hopes he and Gomes can be convinced to commit their future to the club.
"We are still in talks with them," said Solskjaer. "Tahith scored [on Thursday], he'd rather play a game than sit in the stands here, so it's just about making sure he is ready when he gets a chance.
"He played really well against Wolves in the FA Cup; I was very pleased with him then. The boys have got top class attitude, they're top boys.
“We are doing what we can to keep them because in a few years we can see them becoming very, very good players."
