Man Utd boss Solskjaer snaps: You can't give agents control by giving buyout clauses and stuff...

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has defended their cautious approach to this month's transfer market.

A deal for Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been dragging on, while United missed out on Erling Haaland after the former RB Salzburg striker agreed to join Borussia Dortmund.

"There are a couple ... you know about the discussion ... we may have it later ... but of course we do not want to contribute to inflation in prices. It is important that we use common sense.

"There are also other things when you sign players. You have to keep control," said Solskjaer.

"You can't give agents control by giving buyout clauses and stuff. We have been offered that, and for me we need to have control."
