Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plans to fast-track teenage midfielder Hannibal Mejbri into the first team next season.
The 17-year-old has impressed in United's youth set-up since being signed by Monaco for £9million in the summer, and there are already high hopes for his future.
The Manchester Evening News says United already have a vast array of talent at their disposal in centre-midfield, but Mejbri could get a look in for the senior side as one of Solskjaer's fringe players.
Mejbri has been a regular in the under-18s, and even made an appearance for the under-23s earlier this season.
Several of United's more promising youth stars have also been pushing for the first team, but they now look set to go out on loan, making a space which could be filled by Mejbri.
Mejbri could be used as the sixth-choice midfielder in Solskjaer's ranks, which would offer him opportunities to impress, most likely in the Europa League or domestic cups.
