Man Utd boss allays fears over Blind injury

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal suggests Daley Blind's knee injury is nowhere near as bad as initially feared.

The 24-year old midfielder was injured in Holland's 6-0 win over Latvia in Euro2016 qualifying on the weekend and it was first believed that he could be out of action for around six months with a ruptured cruciate ligament.

However, van Gaal has revealed that the problem sustained by Blind is not as serious with more scans to further assess the damage.

"He has a brace on his knee, 10 days rest and he will have another scan and that will say more about the injury," van Gaal said ahead of the weekend's clash with Arsenal.

"It's not as bad as the doctors thought after the match but it shall be a long story I believe, but not six months or so."
