Manchester United are lining up a summer bid for Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier.

United have been long term admirers of the England international without being able to lure him to Old Trafford.

But United bosses believe Dier could be tempted to leave Spurs this summer, with the London club willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old, says the Daily Star.

United are planning for life without Paul Pogba, who remains determined to leave at the end of the season and is expected to join Real Madrid.

Dier could bolster United's midfield options and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also likes the fact that he can operate in defence as well.
