Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has spoken this morning after Portugal's World Cup elimination at the hands of Morocco.
The United ace paid tribute to Morocco for their triumph.
Fernandes said, "It's difficult to express in a few words everything we felt yesterday [Saturday] as soon as the game ended.
"Our dream fell apart when we did everything to make it end differently. It's sad and painful, because representing our country means a lot more than just playing football.
"Despite the elimination, I feel very proud to be Portuguese and even more proud of all those who represented our country with me in this World Cup. I would also like to congratulate the Morocco team for the great game and for qualifying for the semi-finals of the World Cup, deservedly."
