Man Utd accept errors in Antony signing

Manchester United have accepted that they paid over the odds to sign winger Antony from Ajax last summer.

The Red Devils eventually got the Brazilian winger for manager Erik ten Hag late in the transfer window.

However, it came at some cost, as United ended up paying a fee of close to £86 million for the 22-year-old.

Per ESPN, United did not have as many left-footed attackers they had scouted as compared to right-footed forwards.

Given ten Hag was adamant about securing a left-footed player for the right side, Antony was the natural option.

However, the club believe that with improved scouting and negotiations, they can avoid overpaying in such a manner in the future.
