Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson refuses to give up on landing Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson.

The Independent says Carson has been a long-standing target but Anfield have so far resisted City's efforts to sign him. Eriksson has not given up hope of convincing Liverpool to sell with a £6m bid for the 22-year-old expected, although Chelsea's Carlo Cudicini and Livorno's £3m-rated Marco Amelia are also under consideration.
