Man City Pursues Alexis Sanchez for £70m, Bernardo Silva Adapts to Premier League Setup

The Premier League is now on full blast. And some of the best football bookmakers are quick to respond to the hype as the favorites and underdogs have been revealed. But things are bound to change as possible transfers might happen along the way.

One of the most probable transfers is surrounding Alexis Sanchez who's actively pursued by Manchester City. Reports have it that the City is pretty confident that it's just a matter of time that they get the 28-year-old footballer to play for them.

Arsenal's Devastating Loss Against Man City

Arsenal has just suffered one of the most devastating losses in its history, as Man City annihilated them 4-0. Sanchez wasn't really to blame as he was sidelined throughout much of the game.

It wasn't until the 4-0 thrashing that the coaching staff sent him back to the game at the 62-minute mark. But all hope was lost as it was already too late for him to do anything.

After the disappointing loss, Sanchez took to Instagram to express his dismay by posting a photo of him squatting and staring down the field.

How Much is the Possible Transfer?

There is nothing official regarding the transfer. But rumors have it that the possible transfer could spark around £70 million.

It sure is a big pay day for him and Arsenal, but there's no doubt that the gargantuan sum of money is worth his caliber. A transfer that costs this big is surely an attractive deal for Sanchez, as much as for Arsenal.

But the question still lies for the Gunners if losing their star player is worth the millions of pounds.

Sanchez Hints a Transfer

There are a lot of reasons as to why Sanchez might be transferring to the City. But what's great is that these reasons are backed up by hints.

One of the most obvious of these is Sanchez refusing to sign a new deal with Arsenal all summer long. And take note that his contract will expire next summer!

Then there's the recent humiliating loss they suffered at the hands of Manchester City. Based on the Chilean's social media reaction, it's pretty clear that he's not happy with his team anymore. Also, put into the equation that the coaching staff denied him precious minutes during that game.

So whether the transfer is happening this summer or next season, things will still remain the same. There will always be the possibility that Man City will just not stop in getting Sanchez to play for them.

Bernardo Silva, Man City's Newly-acquired Star

Putting the hype around the possible Alexis Sanchez transfer aside, Manchester City is also having a great time thanks to the newly recruited Bernardo Silva. Having started the season with two consecutive wins and one draw, it sure is a great way to start the season for the City.

With this, it's worth noting that Silva's entry to his new team is well deserved and frankly speaking – well played. The team's latest game against Bournemouth highlighted Silva's football prowess that led the team to a 2-1 victory.

But the win didn't go smoothly as it was a controversial one. The game was heavily critiqued because of Referee Mike Dean's decisions. The 49-year-old veteran was even booed off by the fans after the game. But then again, a win is a win and a loss is a loss for Bournemouth.

With the commotion and drama unfolding right in front of him, Silva can't help but voice out his thoughts regarding his Premier League debut. The Portuguese say that the Premier League is very different from the UEFA that he's previously played in.

He says it was due to the physicality of the game. The 23-year-old went on saying that little fouls weren't whistled and that he needs to get used to it.

Silva and Sanchez's Effects on Man City Betting Odds

There is surely no stopping to Manchester City even if it had already acquired a star player of Bernardo Silva's caliber. The £43 million deal might already seem too high of an expense, but the City seems to be bathing in financial bliss as they're dangling Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal with another £70million deal.

Because of these bold moves, Man City is becoming the favorite in terms of betting.

Man City's next game is on Sept. 9 against Liverpool. The City gets 5/6 and -1.0 handicap while Liverpool has 3/1 odds and +1.0 handicap. After that, the favorite City will face Feyenoord on Sept. 13 with 5/4 and -1.0 odds on its side.

Feyenoord has +1.0 and 17/10. The trend remains the same on Sept. 23 with Man City getting 2/11 and Crystal Palace gets 14/1.

With this, one can clearly see how Bernardo Silva's contribution to the City's winning streak brought the team to the top ranks of betting odds. If the Sanchez transfer pushes through, there's no doubt that the City will overtake Liverpool or even Man United in favorites ranking.
