Magic of the FA Cup: Cray Valley Paper Mills striker Kyrell Lisbie aims to do Dad proud at Charlton

Cray Valley Paper Mills striker Kyrell Lisbie is ready to do the family name proud today.

Lisbie is the son of former Charlton star Kevin Lisbie and will lead the Cray Valley Paper Mills line today against the Addicks in the First Round of the FA Cup.

"The history between Charlton and my dad, to have an opportunity to go there I was honestly so happy," Kyrell told the Daily Star.

"My phone went mad with family and friends. Everyone was so happy for me and it was a wonderful feeling. I said to my dad before the draw 'I want Charlton away.' To get it was honestly amazing."

"It all happened in slow motion," he recalls. "I saw the draw coming out and it was disbelief. Within 30 seconds I was trying to ignore calls on my phone because it was going so mad. I still work at Charlton and know a lot of people down there, so it's exactly what we wanted. It's perfect – he's probably going to need over 100 tickets!"

Kyrell returned to Cray Valley Paper Mills this season after spells with Watford and Welling United. Kyrell and twin brother Kyreece played with their father in his first spell with the club.

He added: "Not many kids get to play with their dad.

"I was like a sponge soaking up all of his experience, both on the pitch and off the pitch. He didn't boss me around, but he was harsh because he expected a lot from me and Kyreece. He treated me like any other player because he has high standards."
