Luton edging closer to Zambrano agreement with LDU Quito

Luton Town remain on track to sign LDU Quito midfielder Oscar Zambrano.

The Hatters have been holding marathon talks with Quito for the youngster, which has included delegations spending time in Ecuador.

The Sun says the latest hurdle to overcome is that Zambrano, 19, is due 15 per cent of the potential £5.5million fee but Quito would like him to waive that.

An alternative would be for Luton to pay Zambrano the cash but that only increases the club's overall outlay.

Brighton and Chelsea have also been linked with Zambrano, who has been likened to Blues midfielder Moises Caicedo.
