A Luton Town delegation are in Ecuador to close a deal with LDU Quito for Oscar Zambrano.
Luton made an initial attempt for Zambrano over the summer and are now trying again this week, says The Sun.
Hatters boss Rob Edwards confirmed their interest in the youngster last week.
Luton chief scout Phil Chapple and assistant John Morling are both in the country for talks about a deal for Zambrano.
The youngster has been likened to Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo and rated at £5m by LDU Quito.
