Luka Romero was thrilled to make his debut for Real Mallorca yesterday.
Romero, born in Mexico but with Argentine nationality, made history on Wednesday in defeat to Real Madrid (2-0), becoming the youngest footballer to debut in the LaLiga.
He entered the field after halftime at 15 years and 219 days, a moment that he described as "incredible" and one he "will never" forget.
Romero posted to social media: "It was an unforgettable moment. Thank you to the entire coaching staff and to Mallorca for giving me this opportunity. I will never forget this day. It was a pity to lose, but we continue to believe."
Mallorca coach Vicente Moreno said, "Above all, more than just saying a lot to him on a tactical level, I tried to reassure him. I reached for his heart and he was going 2,000 revolutions.
"We are talking about a boy who is 15 years old. He is a boy who, if we have put him there to play, is because we think he deserved it and that he has potential.
"In training we are giving him incentives and he is taking them and getting better every day. It was a matter of looking for a moment to debut and to see the future, you will see because he is a great player."
