Cristiano Lucarelli has welcomed the appointment of Serse Cosmi as new Livorno coach.

Cosmi guided Livorno to a first victory over Roma in 62 years yesterday and striker Lucarelli said: "Cosmi is the right man for the job.

"He has already acted upon two or three important elements, but the fault for our bad start wasn't entirely Ruotolo's."

Lucarelli also admits he could've joined Roma six years ago.

"Fabio Capello came looking for me in 2003. I really like Roma and in the 1980s their supporters were a model of the Ultra' movement," he added.
