LOAN WATCH: Chelsea's Romeu open to Stuttgart stay

Oriol Romeu has suggested that he would be open to remaining with VfB Stuttgart if the opportunity arose.

The 23-year old Spanish midfielder is on a season-long loan from Chelsea and is so far enjoying his time in the German Bundesliga with the Reds.

The more defence-minded Romeu has managed just 33 appearances for the Blues since arriving from Barcelona in the summer of 2011 which has prompted him to ponder his future with Stuttgart and away from Stamford Bridge after starting seven times for Armin Veh's side this season.

"My main objective is to improve my game and I think I can still improve a lot," said the ex-Valencia loanee.

"The Bundesliga is a good league to grow and to become a better player.

"We'll see what happens, but now I'm focused on the present and helping the team.

"I don't know what will happen in the next few years but I will never say no to staying in Stuttgart because they have treated me amazingly so far and I'm really happy here."
