Liverpool youngster Tom Hill has had successful knee surgery after suffering an ACL injury.

The teenager picked up the long-term injury during a training session at the Kirkby Academy and went under the knife earlier this week.

Hill made his first-team debut last season in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal defeat to Aston Villa.

The midfielder vowed to come back "stronger than ever" on Instagram after posting about his surgery on Tuesday morning.

"Operation went well, long road to recovery now but I'll be back stronger than ever," posted Hill. "Thanks to everyone for the messages."
