Liverpool whiz Elliott rejected Real Madrid - and Ramos

Harvey Elliott rejected Real Madrid to sign for Liverpool, it has been revealed.

Elliott, who played for Championship side Fulham at the time, was given a full tour of the Bernabeu as talks were ongoing between him and the LaLiga giants. However, he snubbed the club and their captain, Sergio Ramos, to the surprise of the Real Madrid staff, reports the Athletic.

After being offered to meet Ramos, Elliott replied, "No, it's OK, thanks, I don't like him after what he did to Mo Salah".

Elliott, a lifelong Liverpool fan, had travelled to Kiev the summer before to watch the Reds in the Champions League final against Madrid; where Ramos controversially brought Salah down, injuring his shoulder and forcing him to come off during the first half.

Elliott eventually put pen to paper with Liverpool in July, signing for an undisclosed fee. The winger revealed that the Premier League side approached him during a family holiday in Portugal.
