Liverpool are set to recall Rhys Williams from a loan spell at Championship side Blackpool.

The 21-year-old Williams has played 17 times for the Tangerines so far this season.

However, he has only played once in the past five matches.

Liverpool want to add him to their first-team squad, per the Liverpool Echo.

The reason is because Nat Phillips is likely to be sold permanently.

Given the club's issues in that position with injuries, they want Williams as cover for the rest of the season.
