Liverpool teen Ki-Jana Hoever admits he'd love to be Virgil van Dijk's long-term defensive partner.

The 17 year-old former Ajax prospect made his Reds debut earlier this year at 16.

He told De Telegraaf: “Hopefully it will happen someday. Virgil is just a big brother.

“It's special that I can learn things from him at this age, so I try to do that as much as possible. Like I can learn from everyone at Liverpool. I hope it will bring me something beautiful in the end.

“If I am at the back of training with him, he helps me, he tells me how to stand. Then I think: hey, I never stood like that. But that's why I do that now, because he knows it."
