Liverpool table bid for Ipswich superkid Wickham

Liverpool are moving for Ipswich Town superkid Connor Wickham.

The Daily Express says they have submitted a bid of just under £8million for Wickham.

Ipswich are seeking £10m for England Under-21 striker Wickham, who is away at a Spanish training camp with Stuart Pearce's squad ahead of the European Championships in Denmark later this month.

The startling impact made by Luis Suarez - and to a lesser extent Andy Carroll - on Merseyside since January has not stopped boss Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli from seeking to add another striker to their pool of talent.

Wickham, 18 and 6ft 3in, scored nine goals in 24 starts for the Championship side last season.
