Liverpool suffer Nice blow in Thuram bid

Liverpool have been dealt a huge transfer blow that could impact their season.

The Reds were hoping to sign midfielder Kephren Thuram from OGC Nice for a modest fee.

However, Nice-Matin now reports that the French side are adamant about keeping Thuram for another year.

Nice do not believe the France Under-21 star should be in any rush to sign for a Premier League club.

After securing Alexis Mac Allister, manager Jurgen Klopp was hoping Thuram would be his second signing of the summer.

However, he will now have to look elsewhere, which may pose a problem given the club's modest transfer budget for the summer.

The likes of Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice were initial Liverpool targets, but were out of their price range as well.
