Liverpool forward Diogo Jota was delighted with the reaction of his team against Brentford on Sunday.

The Reds earned an impressive 3-0 home win against the London club to inch closer to top spot in the Premier League.

Jota was happy at how they reacted to setbacks in recent games with this emphatic result.

He told club media post-game: “Really important to show a reaction. We had a tough week with two not-so-good results, and always [to be] back at Anfield and show a reaction with three points before the international break as well – perfect."

He then added on the frustration of the Luton Town and Toulouse setbacks: “Yeah, of course, especially the Luton game because obviously it is Premier League and we dropped there two points, we know that, so it was really important to get back to victories today."

On pushing to score more after 1-0, he finished: “It was crucial to get that first goal. VAR delaying it a little bit but we finally got it and we tried to manage the game. I think the second goal is a great play, and then the third goal as well. So, a good performance and good result."
