Liverpool plan new contracts for BIG FIVE

Liverpool are ready to open new contract talks with no less than five senior players in the coming weeks.

The Telegraph says the priority this week is skipper Steven Gerrard's new deal, with his current contract expiring in June.

Raheem Sterling's future is also high on the agenda for the Merseysiders, with talks continuing over a new £100,000-a-week deal. The teenager's representatives are also poised to meet Ian Ayre, the club's chief executive, in the next week and an agreement is in sight.

Liverpool are also ready to discuss new deals with Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho and Joe Allen as the club seek to tie down the core of their squad.
