Liverpool have opened talks with Benfica for centre-half Francisco Reis Ferreira.
Better known as Ferro, the defender has impressed in Portugal this season, scoring three goals in eight appearances since making his first team debut last month.
Record says Liverpool had a formal offer to sign the player rejected two years ago, having asked to take the player on an initial loan with an option to buy for €10m.
Jurgen Klopp's side are now said to have got back in touch with Benfica about the possibility of a summer transfer.
Ferro recently extended his contract until 2023 and has a €100million release clause.
