Liverpool midfielder Lucas Levia has called on divine intervention to ensure he is fit and available for the Reds' League Cup final clash with Manchester City at Wembley Stadium next month.
Lucas has been denied the opportunity to play at Wembley due to injury on four separate occasions, with an anterior cruciate ligament injury ruling him out of three matches at the stadium in 2012, before a thigh injury stopped him taking the field in last season's FA Cup semi-final.
The Merseyside club progressed to the final of the tournament after defeating Stoke City in a penalty shootout on Tuesday night and the Brazilian midfielder is desperate to make his first appearance one of world football's most famous venues.
"Fingers crossed now! Everyone knows I've never played there and we still have a month to go," Lucas said.
"I ask everyone to pray that I can get there and help Liverpool to win.
"Wembley was always in my mind, but I don't want to talk too much about it because it's still some way off.
"I remember last year when we got to the semi-final and the day before the game I got an injury, but I'm sure it won't happen again.
"I'm doing everything right. I think this year has been a very good year for me and I think I deserve to play there and hopefully win a title for the club."
