Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum: Our results falling short of expectations

Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum admits he faced Bayern Munich carrying an injury.

The Holland international was left frustrated after their 0-0 draw with Champions League opponents Bayern Munich last night.

"So we have to deal with it in three weeks in Germany," he told Veronica, before admitting he was carrying a knock.

"But I think no footballer does that (play 100% fit). I try to make the best of it. Now that our results are not up to expectations, everything else is more likely, including how I play, but I perform consistently throughout the season, I think."

On their priorities, Wijnaldum added: "We want to participate on all fronts, so also in the Champions League, which is one of the most beautiful competitions to be able to play in. The Premier League probably means more to the fans, because we have not become champions for a long time."
