Liverpool legend John Aldridge has slammed the transfer work of the club's modern day managers.
Aldo is unimpressed by Brendan Rodgers' signings.
He wrote in the Sunday World: "Unfortunately, Rodgers has followed in the footsteps of the likes of Souness, Houllier, Benitez, Hodgson and Dalglish by proving himself to be less than adept when it comes to identifying and signing players.
"He put his faith in players he trusts ahead of the guys he bought to take Liverpool to the next level in his biggest Champions League game yet the owners will have looked at that and have every right to ask why all the money that was spent last summer has not produced results.
"Mario Balotelli, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and Emre Can were all hailed as wonderful signings not so long ago, but none of them are getting into the team now.
"It remains to be seen how the owners will react when Rodgers presents them with a list of names he wants to sign in January or next summer because, if his recent captures are anything to go by, his judgement will not be trusted."
