Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas: Takeover rumours not discussed by players

Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas has admitted to some uncertainty about the future of the club.

The Greek international, who is understudy to Andy Roberston, does suggest that the players do not spend too much time discussing the club's ownership.

Liverpool's Fenway Sports Group owners are looking to sell the club in the coming months.

“No, it's not something we've talked about as players," Tsimikas told The Athletic of the situation.

“There's nothing we can do about that. It doesn't affect us.

"As players, we always look at ourselves on the pitch and try to perform no matter what. Until now, we've had everything we could have asked for as players with facilities and money. The only thing we have to discuss as players is how we can play better to achieve our goals."

Robertson had stated similarly to Liverpool Echo recently, adding: "No, look, honestly, we just focus on playing football. Obviously you see the stuff in the press and you see stuff around potential new buyers or that the club has been put up for sale and things like that, but we can't control it.

"All we can do is play football, all we can do is control what is on the pitch. There's enough work on the pitch for us to not have to worry about anything else and yes, whatever else happens [with the owners] will happen."
