Liverpool great Graeme Souness can see Diogo Jota ousting Roberto Firmino as a first-choice in the Reds attack.
The Portuguese has three goals in three games and netted the winner against West Ham on Saturday after coming off the bench to finish from fellow substitute Xherdan Shaqiri's pass.
"I would imagine pretty quickly he will be challenging Firmino for a starting spot," Souness said, speaking on Sky Sports.
"Why not? He's got goals, he got a goal in what every three games at Wolves. And now he's in a better team so that should improve. I like him a lot, 23 years old, he can only do better."
Firmino has come in for some criticism for his displays so far this season, contributing only a solitary strike in 10 games across all competitions.
