Liverpool are among the teams pushing to sign Argentinos Juniors midfielder Federico Redondo.

An international teammate of Reds star Alexis Mac Allister, Redondo would cost only £7 million.

Per journalist Francois Plateau, Mac Allister is said to have talked up his countryman.

The 21-year-old, who emerged from the Argentino Juniors' academy in Buenos Aires, could be heading to Europe very soon.

Whether a deal happens in the winter or summer is unclear, given Liverpool's lavish spending this past summer.

Redondo may even be secured and sent back on loan to Argentinos for his development.
