Liverpool encouraged to reignite plans for Aston Villa centre-forward Watkins

Liverpool are weighing up a late market move for Aston Villa centre-forward Ollie Watkins.

The Liverpool Echo says the Reds are considering reigniting their long-term interest in the England international.

Manchester City securing the services of Jack Grealish for £100million on Thursday could open the door for Liverpool to secure the services of Watkins.

Danny Ings arrived in Birmingham as a result of the move, and Liverpool, who are long time admirers of Watkins, could move for the striker.

Aston Villa could be more willing to part ways with Watkins because of the Ings deal.
