Liverpool duo influential in England U17 draw with Brazil

Liverpool midfielder Adam Phillips struck for England U17 in their 2-2 draw with Brazil yesterday.

Phillips rescued a draw for 10-man England U17s against Brazil at the Nike International Tournament in Brazil.

The Young Lions looked on course for victory after Layton Ndukwu fired his side in front just before the break.

The course of the game changed dramatically late on, however, as Liverpool Trent Arnold was sent off in the 82nd minute for a second bookable offence.

Brazil capitalised on their numerical advantage scoring goals through Lincoln Dos Santos and Evander Ferreira.

But Philips had other ideas. With seconds remaining on the clock, England won a corner with the ball dropping to Philips outside of the box.

The Liverpool midfielder composed himself and smashed home the late leveller.
