Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has revealed the pain everyone in the dressing room is feeling.
The Reds were humiliated 5-2 by Real Madrid at Anfield in the Champions League round of 16 first leg tie on Tuesday.
Van Dijk and his teammates are furious at how they played, but know they must do everything to try and claw back the tie in the second leg.
“Everyone is angry, everyone is obviously disappointed. And the way we lost, almost not giving ourselves a chance in Madrid, is tough. It's hard that we have almost an impossible job in Madrid," he said.
“It is difficult, but it is the hard reality and something we have to deal with, we have to deal with as a group, as a unit.
“It's not been the easiest season so far but the only way to get out of it is to stick together and that's the message – even after now."
