Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk feels his reading of the game is his greatest strength.

Van Dijk left Southampton for Liverpool in a £75m deal in January and has settled quickly on Merseyside.

Speaking with SFR Sport, Van Dijk discussed his approach to the game: "I think everything is in the positioning. If the ball is going to be played in the game, I know I have the speed, so it's not a problem. If you are well placed, you make your life easier."

He continued: "Obviously, there will be situations where mistakes will be made, but you just have to be well placed and intelligent on the field.

"I think everything is in the game's reading. Sounds easy huh?"
