Liverpool defender Gomez lauds academy stars for Norwich display

Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez lavished praise on the club's youngsters after their Carabao Cup win over Norwich City.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds achieved a 3-0 success in the midweek clash, with a Takumi Minamino brace and Divock Origi strike enough to seal the win.

The Reds' starting lineup included senior debuts for Conor Bradley and Kaide Gordon, while fellow Academy star Tyler Morton came off the bench.

"They all did unbelievable," said Gomez of the trio, per the club website.

"A special mention to each and every one of them.

"We saw glimpses in pre-season of how good they are, a lot of training sessions they come up and train with us. They all did unbelievable.

"It's not easy to come away without much rhythm and make your debut away at a tough place like this. Each of them did especially well."
