Liverpool crock Sturridge should not go to Euro2016 – Wilkins

Ray Wilkins believes that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge should not be included in the final 23-man England squad for Euro2016.

Sturridge has missed out both the warm-up games against Turkey and Australia due to injury and while the striker has trained with the squad, he does not particularly look at his sharpest.

Former England international Wilkins is none too impressed with Sturridge's attitude and has stated that the Liverpool striker should be left back home if he is not mentally prepared to gel with the rest of the team leading up to the tournament in France.

Wilkins told talkSPORT: "When you're taking a squad away and you're going to be together for three or four weeks, you need a group of guys who are really going to gel together.

"Whether you're selected or not, you have to be ready to come on and play and if Daniel is not in the right frame of mind to do that then he shouldn't go."
