Liverpool captain Van Dijk praises Konate after win at Brentford

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk hailed their young players after today's win at Brentford.

The Reds won 4-1 in London.

Van Dijk said: "The way they've stepped up this season has been remarkable. Quansah, Bradley - we saw him in pre-season, he was so comfortable. The way he came back was outstanding, the environment too.

"Liverpool is a great place to be, the value, the culture and we, as senior players, have to keep it that way and that's why they express their quality that way."

On defensive partner Ibrahima Konate, he added: "I enjoy it a lot, he's learning so young still. He's got potential and he's got everything for a modern day centre-half, you have to be fast, ready to play, play with a massive space in behind and deal with it. He wants to learn and takes the responsibility, it's nice to see, these players who want to improve and have a passion to win every game."
