Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers hopes to have Joe Allen available for the derby against Everton.
The Wales international was due to make his return from a groin injury in the FA Cup win at Bournemouth but didn't travel with the squad after picking up a knock in training.
"It will be a question mark with Joe. I think he could be fit to play on Tuesday but it's deciding how big the risk is," said Rodgers.
"When he came back he was doing really well, so we need to weigh up the risk because he could play on Tuesday and make it worse and be out for three or four weeks or he could miss Tuesday and be all right because of those extra days."
