Liverpool boss Klopp warns Guinea over Keita selection

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has rejected claims Naby Keita is set to depart for international duty with Guinea for games with Algeria and Ivory Coast later this month.

Guinea coach Kaba Diawara has claimed Keita could be back in action inside the next fortnight last week.

The attacking midfielder was left out of the Reds' Champions League squad for the group stages earlier this month and Klopp insists Keita won't return until at least October.

Klopp said: "No, I don't expect him to go on international duty. The expected return date was somewhere in October and that is why we had to make the decision [with the Champions League squad] and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the same.

"That is why the two boys were not in the squad because the expected return date, which always can differ a little bit, is why we had to make the decision now or last week and that is why we made the decision."
