Liverpool boss Klopp: Kelleher has been perfect

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reiterated his appreciation for Caoimhin Kelleher's displays this term.

The no.2 has been in outstanding form as the club dealt with an injury to Alisson Becker.

While Klopp knows that Alisson will go into the side when fit, Kelleher has been an able deputy.

He stated: “I think I was never shy of praising Caoimh!

“For example, take Caoimh. Ali out for a long spell would have been a bit of a problem. Not because of Caoimh, but he never had to play that many games so you never know how that would look then.

“So, [it was] perfect."

Klopp continued: “How these boys dealt with the situation and with the new opportunities is just exceptional.

“So many players out for a really long time and we are still where we are, that's pretty special. And you cannot expect that. You hope for these kind of things – you cannot expect it.

“And I'm absolutely over the moon, happy for the boys that they can prove their point. I was never in doubt about them but they still have to prove it themselves.

“That's wonderful, absolutely, outstanding season. Without Caoimh Kelleher, [there is] no chance to be in the position we are."
