Liverpool boss Klopp happy as front trio score in victory over Darmstadt

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was delighted with their performance for Monday's friendly win against SV Darmstadt.

The Reds won 3-1 as Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz struck for the Reds at Deepdale.

“It's clear, we looked fresh and really good, in the next six days we have to find a formation for Chelsea and not for the whole season," said Reds boss Klopp. “Nobody got injured, everyone got through okay.

“There is some football stuff we have to do and sort, but that's normal. Pre-season always goes until the first international break, we have to use these weeks without international football.

“In Germany we could train a lot on physical and tactical stuff, we came out of the tour without big problems. It's not done and dusted, we have four or five sessions then we have to put in a proper fight. Let's go.

“We could've scored more goals, we conceded which we shouldn't - but it's a mistake. You talk about it and it doesn't always get sorted immediately. We can't avoid every ball in behind, we have to make sure we are in better positions.

“We scored two goals from set-pieces and we played a lot of good stuff without scoring."

Of Alexis Mac Allister's performance, Klopp added: “He's a top-class player with and without the ball. We had our moments where we were too open, we will work on it, we will test some things.

“In a compact formation, Alexis can play there, if it's open should he play there? No. But he showed he is a brilliant footballer and did really well."
