Liverpool boss Klopp fielded direct German Federation approach

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp chose not to leave the club for an international job this week.

The German head coach had a serious chance of taking over at his country's national team.

Klopp was one of the big names linked to the Germany job after Hansi Flick lost his job.

However, The Telegraph states that Klopp rejected the move, despite being the German Football Association's first choice.

He did not want to leave Liverpool at this stage of his journey in the Premier League.

Klopp believes he is at the start of a rebuild and a new cycle at the Reds, which he wants to see through.
