Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he was left disappointed with their 1-1 draw against Burnley.

It was the first time Liverpool had dropped points at Anfield all season.

Leading 1-0 through a first-half Andy Robertson header, the Reds failed to build on their advantage as visiting goalkeeper Nick Pope put on a masterclass to keep his side in the game.

And reward for those efforts came late in the second period when Jay Rodriguez finished well from just inside the box following a knockdown.

Klopp said: "There were moments when it was Liverpool against Nick Pope.

"It is the biggest challenge in football to play against a team which is that organised and has such an outstanding attitude like Burnley has.

"We created super chances but there was always one guy who wanted to deny us and it was Nick Pope.

“For different reasons, this score left the door open for Burnley and it was always clear they had corners where [goalkeeper] Ali[sson] was under pressure from three or four players and then free-kicks on top of that.

"It was clear they wanted to have those situations and when they had them they were always a threat. We should have scored more, I am fine with the performance, for 80 minutes I would say, it is one of the best games we played against Burnley.

"But we didn't score and that is why we only got a point. It was a draw but I cannot deny it feels like we completely lost the game."
