Liverpool boss Klopp: Diaz close to Elliott and Jones - but it's really strange

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Luis Diaz has been embraced by the squad.

Diaz has starred since his January arrival from Porto.

He said: "It's so much to him more than to other players really. He communicates with everybody without really speaking the language.

"Yes, there's the Spanish faction that's no problem they are really close and helped him so much.

"Thiago, Fabinho, Alisson, Bobby (Firmino), all these guys a lot, Adrian is great in this aspect.

"He's really close with Curtis (Jones), he's really close with Harvey (Elliott), I have no idea how they talk to be honest but it's on an emotional basis they are close and they were after a week and it's really strange, but it's up to him."

Liverpool famously beat Tottenham to the signing of the 25-year-old Colombian - a side who they play on the weekend.

Asked to explain the impact Diaz has made ahead of the game, he said: "There's enough space in each squad in the world for a world class player, that's why we were so desperate to get him.

"If you go through our Champions League games when we played Porto, he was still there.

"So it's really strange situation, now he goes to the final with us which is amazing, you could see what it means to him.

"Really, thank God we made that decision as it helped everywhere (in the team)."
