Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits Thiago Alcantara will not feature for Liverpool against West Brom this weekend.

But fit again duo Xherdan Shaqiri and James Milner are both in line to feature as Liverpool's injury issues further clear.

Spain international Thiago finally resumed first team training this week, and is hoping to make his comeback over the Christmas period.

Klopp said on Thursday: “Thiago has made his first steps back towards team training. Not full yet.

“After a long time, we cannot rush it."

"Other guys are closer, Shaq trained well. Milly [Milner], yesterday a full session. We have still two more training days before we make a decision."

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also back in contention for this weekend, while Thiago will hope to feature at Newcastle next week.
