Liverpool attacker Alexis Mac Allister has sung the praises of Jarell Quansah.

Mac Allister felt the defender was superb in victory over Brighton.

“He was amazing," the Argentinian told Liverpoolfc.com after the victory.

“The job he did with Virg [Virgil van Dijk] is so important for the team because it gives us that calmness that we need to play football.

“Even on the ball he was amazing. Very happy and very glad for him."

Mac Allister added: “We need to go game by game. We need to focus on ourselves, not other teams.

“The team is there – we want to win trophies this season because we want to make it special as well for Jürgen. We are in a good way and we want to keep it like that."
